What Do Widgets Do?
Widgets are small, focused blocks of information displayed on your dashboard. Each widget shows a specific type of data, such as appointments, sales opportunities, or notes. Together, they form your dashboard view, allowing you to see key information at a glance.
Widgets help you stay organised and informed without opening multiple pages. You can combine different widgets to create a workspace that supports how you work.
What Is the Widget Library?
The widget library is the central place in Tribe CRM where you browse and select widgets to add to your dashboards. It is accessible from any dashboard or workspace and contains all available widgets organised into categories.
The library opens as a modal dialog with two panels. The left panel displays a category tree, which you can expand to browse widgets by topic or data type. The right panel displays the widgets within whichever category you have selected. Each widget card shows a type illustration so you can identify the kind of data it displays before adding it.
Widgets already present on your dashboard are labelled Already added in the library, making it easy to avoid unintentional duplicates. You can also use the Search function to find any widget by name directly, without needing to browse through categories.
Where Do I Find Widgets?
Navigate to the dashboard where you want to add a widget.
Click Add widget in the top right corner.
The widget library opens as a modal dialog. The left panel displays the category tree; the right panel displays the widgets within the selected category.
You can browse widgets by category or search for a specific widget. The next section in this article explains how to do this.
How to Browse Widgets by Category
In the left panel, review the top-level categories.
Click a top-level category to expand it and view its sub-folders. Each sub-folder displays a badge showing the number of widgets it contains.
Click a sub-folder to load its widgets in the right panel. The selected folder name appears as a breadcrumb at the top of the right panel.
Hover over a widget card to see a tooltip with any additional category detail not visible in the tree.
Click the widget you want to add.
Note: If a widget is already present on your dashboard, it will be labelled Already added in the library. You can still add multiple instances of a widget if your workflow requires it.
How to Search for a Widget by Name
Use search when you know the name of the widget you want and do not want to browse through categories.
In the widget library modal, click the Search button in the top-right corner of the content area.
Search mode activates: the category tree dims and a search bar appears, ready for input.
Begin typing the widget name. Results update dynamically as you type, searching across the entire library regardless of category.
Click the widget you want to add.
To exit search mode:
Click Back-arrow button in the top left to return to the last category you had selected, or
Click any category in the left panel to return to category browsing.
Did you know? Search works across the whole library, so you do not need to be in a specific category before searching.
Examples of Frequently Used Widgets
Tribe offers a wide range of widgets. Below are some commonly used ones.
Calendar and Planning Widgets
The Agenda Widget appears on My Workplace by default. It shows your appointments for today, and you can switch to weekly or monthly views. You can also view a colleague's appointments. Depending on your organisation's active modules, you can choose which data appears, such as registered hours or work orders.
The Calendar Widget shows the current month by default, helping you plan further ahead. The Planning Widget displays the schedules of all employees for the current week. These widgets are available in the library under Agenda & Calendar.
Sales Pipeline and Forecast Widgets
The Sales Pipeline Widget shows your sales opportunities across different phases. Each phase displays the relevant opportunities, and you can open them to view more details.
This widget includes a Bucket View, where each bucket represents a sales phase. You can drag opportunities between buckets to update their phase or status. You can also create new opportunities directly inside a bucket.
The Forecast Widget shows open sales opportunities in a stacked bar chart per phase, including won opportunities. This helps you see expected sales per month. Both weighted and non-weighted versions are available.
These widgets can be found under Activities > Sales Opportunities.
Notes Widget
The Notes Widget works like a digital sticky note on your dashboard. It is useful for reminders that do not belong in your calendar or activities. You can find this widget in the library under Other.
Pinning a File, Website, or Record
You can pin important records, websites, or files to your dashboard using dedicated widgets. This is useful when you often return to the same project, customer, or document. To pin a record, add the relevant pin widget and select the item you want to display.
Website and file widgets are located under Other.
Record pinning widgets are found under the relevant subject area, such as Activities > Projects > Pin Project or Organisations > Commercial Relations > Customers > Pin Customer.
How Do I Remove a Widget from My Dashboard?
You can remove widgets that you no longer need without deleting them from Tribe.
Locate the widget you want to remove.
Select the Dot Menu in the top-right corner of the widget.
Click Delete.
This removes the widget from your dashboard only. You can always add it again from the widget library.
Quick Summary
Widgets in Tribe display focused pieces of information on your dashboards. You can add them using the widget library by browsing categories or searching by name, and remove them at any time without affecting your data. Combining different widgets lets you create a workspace that matches how you and your team work.
