How Do I Hide Tabs In Projects?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Projects in Tribe contain several tabs used to register different types of information, such as external costs, capacity, or planning. Not every user needs access to all of these tabs in their daily work. By hiding tabs based on roles, you can control what users see and keep projects clear and focused. This guide explains how to manage project tab visibility using roles in Tribe.

Background And Context

Each project in Tribe includes a set of standard tabs that organise project-related information. These tabs are visible by default and are available to all users who have access to the project. To better align access with responsibilities, Tribe allows you to control tab visibility through roles.

Why Or When Should You Hide Project Tabs?

You may want to hide project tabs when certain information is not relevant to all users. This is especially useful when different roles focus on different parts of a project, such as planning, costs, or execution. Limiting visibility helps reduce confusion and prevents users from accessing information they do not need.

Hiding Project Tabs Using Roles

You need administrator rights to manage tab visibility.

  1. Navigate to Configuration.

  2. Select Roles.

  3. Open the role you want to adjust.

  4. Locate the Project section within the role settings.

  5. Review the list of project tabs.

  6. Set the indicator to Green to allow access to a tab.

  7. Set the indicator to Red to hide the tab from users with this role.

  8. Save your changes.

When a tab is set to red, users assigned to that role will no longer see the tab within projects.

Note: When you change a permission within a role, the user’s screen refreshes automatically to apply the updated rights.

Quick Summary
You can hide project tabs in Tribe by adjusting role permissions. This allows you to control which tabs users can see within a project. Using roles helps tailor the project view to each user’s responsibilities and keeps project information organised.
