AI-Assisted ICP

Overview

The AI-Assisted ICP feature automatically builds your Ideal Customer Profile based on real CRM data and live web intelligence. Instead of manually defining your target customer, TribeCRM analyses your historical wins, losses, and top customers — combined with a live crawl of your company's website and social media — to identify the types of companies most likely to convert and succeed with your offering.

The ICP is available on the Business Insight page and is included in the Essential, Advanced, and Ultimate packages. Once generated, it powers the AI lead suggestions feature to surface the most relevant prospects automatically.

This feature is part of the new TribeCRM packages. If you are on a legacy plan, you will need to switch to see it. Contact your account manager to make the transition.

To Get the Best Results from AI-Assisted ICP

  • Have active deal history — the feature works best when your CRM contains a meaningful number of won and lost leads and prospects. It analyses up to 100 won deals, 100 lost deals, and your top 50 customers.

  • Keep your company website up to date — the AI crawls your website and social media profiles to enrich the ICP with market positioning and target audience signals. A current, descriptive site produces better results.

  • Use your CRM in the correct language — the ICP is generated in your organisation's default language setting. Make sure this is configured correctly under your organisation settings.

How It Works

Step 1. Open the Business Insight Page

Navigate to Business Insight in the left-hand menu and select the AI-assisted ICP tab.

You'll see a notice confirming that AI-assisted ICP & Competitive landscape have graduated from the Insider Program and are now part of the Business Insight module.

Step 2. Generate Your ICP

Click the Generate button to start the process. The system checks whether an existing ICP was generated within the last month — if so, the cached result is returned immediately. Otherwise, it proceeds to generate a fresh profile.


How the ICP Is Generated

The ICP is not based on assumptions — it is built using a combination of internal performance data and external business intelligence.

1. Internal Customer Data Analysis

The system reviews:

  • Your top 50 customers by revenue

  • Up to 100 won deals (leads and prospects combined)

  • Up to 100 lost deals

By comparing successful and unsuccessful deals, the system learns which types of companies are most likely to convert and generate value.


2. Web & Market Intelligence

An AI agent crawls your company's:

  • Website (homepage, About, Customers, Solutions, Pricing, Case Studies)

  • Linked social media profiles (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, and others)

This enriches the internal CRM data with additional business context — your positioning, target industries, customer examples, and market focus.


3. Intelligent ICP Analysis

A second AI agent combines all collected data and produces a structured, confidence-weighted ICP across four dimensions:

  • Geography — the primary region(s) where your best-fit customers are located

  • Vertical — the industries or sectors most represented in your wins

  • Company Size — the typical employee range or organisational scale of your ideal customer

  • Ideal Buyer Persona — the job title or role most likely to champion a buying decision

Each dimension is assigned a confidence score (based on data richness) and a weight (reflecting its relative importance in scoring leads). Geography, Vertical, and Company Size weights always sum to 100%.


4. Structured Output

The result is displayed as a set of profile cards — one per ICP dimension — showing the primary value, confidence, weight, alternative values, definition, and supporting evidence from your deal data.

You'll also see a summary ICP statement — a single paragraph describing your ideal customer — and a data quality score indicating how much signal the system had to work with.


Manual Fine-Tuning

Available to admins only on the Advanced and Ultimate packages.

Admins can provide additional instructions to guide the ICP generation. This is useful when you want to reflect a strategic shift, exclude certain segments, or emphasise a new target market.

Examples of fine-tuning instructions:

  • "Focus only on enterprise companies with more than 500 employees"

  • "We are shifting focus to the DACH region"

  • "Exclude public sector customers"

Enter your instructions in the Fine-tune field and click Generate to produce an updated ICP. The previous fine-tuning input is shown above the field so you can see what was used last time.

Manually defining an ICP often relies on intuition. This feature replaces that process with evidence — grounding your target customer definition in actual CRM performance and live market signals.

FAQ

Where do I find the AI-Assisted ICP?
Navigate to Business Insight in the left-hand menu and select the AI-assisted ICP tab. It is available on the Essential, Advanced, and Ultimate packages. If you are on a legacy plan, you will need to switch to the new pricing and packaging first — contact your account manager to make the transition.

How often is the ICP refreshed?
The ICP is cached for one month. After that, clicking Generate will trigger a fresh analysis automatically.

Who can use the fine-tuning feature?
Manual fine-tuning is available to admins only on the Advanced and Ultimate packages. Customers on Essential can generate and view their ICP but the fine-tuning option is not available on that package.

What data does the ICP use?
It draws on your top 50 customers by revenue, up to 100 won deals (leads and prospects combined), up to 100 lost deals, and a live crawl of your company website and linked social media profiles.

What if my CRM doesn't have much deal history?
The feature will still generate an ICP, but confidence scores will be lower where data is sparse. The web intelligence component helps compensate by pulling signals from your public presence. Data quality scores and any gaps are flagged in the result.

Can I regenerate the ICP manually?
Admins on Advanced and Ultimate packages can update their fine-tuning instructions to force a new computation.

I'm on an existing plan — why can't I see this feature?
The AI-Assisted ICP is part of TribeCRM's new pricing and packaging. Existing customers on legacy plans need to switch to the new packages for the feature to become available. Reach out to your account manager to make the transition.
