By default, emails sent from Tribe use a Tribe internal address. Validating your own business domain allows you to send emails from your own address instead, which looks more professional and reduces the risk of messages being filtered as spam. You may need to complete this process when setting up Tribe for the first time or if your domain validation has stopped working. This guide walks you through how to validate your domain so you can send emails reliably from within Tribe.
Validating Your Email Domain
Open Configuration from the main menu.
Select Domain Validations.
Enter your organisation's domain name in the Domain field.
Note! Use only the part after the @ symbol. For example, enter mydomain.com rather than [email protected].
Enter a general organisation email address someone have access to in the Email Address field, such as [email protected] or [email protected]. If not, use your own organisational e-mail address.
Click Send Validation Link.
Open the validation email in the inbox of the address you entered.
Click the validation link in the email.
Click the Pink button in your browser to confirm the validation. After confirmation, Tribe automatically completes the internal validation steps.
Review the SPF and DKIM records displayed on screen.
Copy these records and send them to your IT administrator or whoever is responsible for hosting your domain to add to your organisation's DNS settings.
Once your IT administrator has made the DNS changes, the records will turn green in Tribe.
Did you know? DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate. If the records have not yet turned green, allow some time before checking again.
Quick Summary
Validating your business domain in Tribe allows you to send emails from your own address rather than a default Tribe notification address. Once validation is complete, your IT administrator will need to add the SPF and DKIM records to your organisation's DNS settings. When the records turn green in Tribe, your domain validation is active, and your emails are ready to send.
