Can I Link a Contact Person to Multiple Organisations?

In Tribe, every contact person is registered once, regardless of how many organisations they are associated with. This means a single person can hold different roles across multiple organisations. For example, someone may serve as a creative director at one company while volunteering at another. For each of those roles, you can store separate contact details, such as a role-specific email address or phone number. This guide shows you how to link an existing contact person to an additional organisation without creating a duplicate record.

Linking a Contact Person to an Additional Organisation

  1. Open the organisation card for the organisation you want to link the contact person to.

  2. Navigate to the Relations section on the organisation card.

  3. Click + Add to search for an existing contact person.

  4. Select the contact person from the list. Tribe performs a duplicate check automatically, so if the person is already registered under another organisation, they will appear here.

  5. Once selected, the contact person is linked to this organisation. You can then store role-specific details, such as a dedicated email address or phone number, for this particular link.

Note! Each person exists only once in Tribe. Linking the same person to multiple organisations does not create duplicate records — it establishes a new role-based connection.

Quick Summary

By linking contact persons to multiple organisations, you keep your data clean and avoid unnecessary duplicate records. Each organisational link can hold its own set of contact details, giving you a clear overview of how someone engages across different roles.
