Wherever you are in Tribe, the fastest way to create something new is the + Add button in the top bar. Depending on how your organisation has set up Tribe, this can include record types such as Customer, Contact, Task, or Sales Opportunity, as well as any custom entities you use. By following this guide, you will learn how to add a new record, how to add related information such as an organisation or address while you do, and how Tribe keeps the dialogue easy to read as you go.

What Does This Feature Do?
The + Add button lets you create a new record without leaving the page you are on. Which record types you see here depends on your organisation's setup. Customer, Contact, Task, and Sales Opportunity are common examples, and your organisation may also have custom entities available.
While filling in a record, you often need to add related information that does not exist in Tribe yet, such as a new organisation or an address. This appears directly within the dialogue you are already working in, so you stay in the same place throughout, rather than moving between separate windows.
Fields in the dialogue are organised into sections. A section only opens automatically if it contains a required field, so you always see what needs to be filled in before saving. Sections without a required field stay closed, keeping the dialogue clean and easy to read. You can still open any closed section manually if you want to review or complete it.
How To Add A New Record
Click + Add in the top bar.
Select the type of record you want to create, for example Customer, Contact, Task, or Sales Opportunity.
Fill in the fields for the new record.
Any section containing a required field is open by default; sections without a required field stay closed until you open them.
If a field needs related information that does not exist in Tribe yet, for example a new organisation, enter a the name in the relevant field. When it does not already exist in Tribe, you are offered the choice to create a new one or add one from the Chamber of Commerce.
Select Create new organisation to continue within the same dialogue, or select Add from Chamber of Commerce to look up the organisation in there.
If you selected Create new organisation, the organisation fields open within the dialogue you are already working in. You stay in the same place, rather than moving to a separate window.
Click Confirm to create the new organisation, or cancel if you no longer want to add it.
Once all required fields are complete and any new options are confirmed, click Save or Save and Open. All new records are created together.
The same behaviour applies to any other field where a new option can be created, such as a relation, phase, or team.
Note: A closed section does not mean it is empty or unavailable, it simply has no required fields. You can open it manually at any time to review or complete it.
How To Add An Address
Where a record supports an address, you will see a + Address button rather than an open set of address fields. This keeps the dialogue clean and avoids showing fields you may not need yet.
Click + Address.
Choose the type of address you want to add, for example a visiting address or a postal address.
Once you have chosen a type, the fields for that address appear so you can fill them in.
Repeat this if you need to add more than one address type.
Where Is This Feature Displayed?
This applies wherever you create a record using the + Add button, including related organisations, addresses, or relations added during that process. It does not apply to the Timeline constructor.
Quick Summary
The + Add button lets you create a new record, such as a Customer, Contact, Task, or Sales Opportunity, along with any related information it needs, such as an organisation, address, or relation, all within a single dialogue. Field groups without required fields stay closed to keep the dialogue clean, while groups with required fields open automatically so nothing is missed. Where an address can be added, a + Address button lets you choose the type first, then fill in only the fields you need.
