What Are Notifications and Reminders?
Notifications tell you when something in Tribe needs your attention, for example when someone mentions you in a note or when something is shared with you. Reminders alert you before a key date on a record, giving you time to act before it is due. Each person manages their own notifications and reminders, so your choices do not affect your colleagues.
Did you know? No reminder is active by default. Reminders only start arriving once you set them up. Default notifications, such as Shared with me, are switched on until you switch them off.
Where Are Notifications Displayed?
Your notifications appear in the notification list. This list can be found under the bell-icon in the top right corner of your screen.
The notification list is organised into three tabs:
Feed: shows your notifications.
Unread: shows notifications you have not opened yet. A number next to the tab name shows how many there are.
Action required: shows notifications that need you to take action. These appear in this tab only, not in Feed or Unread.
Notifications are grouped by time, for example under Older. Each notification shows its type and the name of the record, with the relevant date on a second line and the time the notification was sent below it. Unread notifications are marked with a blue dot.
How to Manage Your Notifications?
A notification becomes read as soon as you open it. To change its status or remove it manually, follow these steps:
Click the bell icon in the top right corner to open the notification list.
Hover over the notification you want to manage. A tick icon and a bin icon appear on the right of the notification.
Select the tick icon to mark the notification as read.
Select the bin icon to delete the notification.
How to Choose Which Notifications You Receive?
Notification settings let you switch individual notification types on or off.
Click the bell icon in the top right corner to open the notification list.
Select the Settings icon (the gear) at the top right of the notification list.
Scroll to the Notification types section.
Toggle on the notification types you want to receive. Changes are automatically saved.
Toggle off the notification types you do not want to receive. Changes are automatically saved.
Select Back to notifications to return to the notification list.
The following notification types are available:
AI Agents: lets you know about updates and approvals from your agents.
System: keeps you informed about payments, automations and other system events.
Sales: tracks updates on offers, work orders and other deals.
Shared with me: lets you know when something is shared with you.
Mentions: lets you know when someone mentions you in a note or comment.
Note: Your notification settings are saved per environment. If you work in more than one environment, repeat these steps in each one.
How to Set a Reminder?
Reminders arrive in your notification list ahead of the date on a record. Follow these steps to set one:
Click the bell icon in the top right corner to open the notification list.
Select the Settings icon (the gear) at the top right of the notification list.
In the Reminders section, select the Search an entity to add drop-down.
Select the entity you want to be reminded about, for example Call.
Enter a number in the first field.
Select a unit from the drop-down: minute, hour, day or week.
Select Save. Select Cancel to close the entry without saving.
To be reminded at more than one time, select + Add reminder before saving. A new row appears for a further lead time. For example, add one reminder one week before and another one day before.
Once saved, the entity appears in your list of reminders, with a line for each lead time, for example "Send reminder 3 minutes before". A three dots icon sits next to each entity in the list to edit or remove the reminder.
Note: Entities that have a date but no time, such as invoices and subscriptions, offer days and weeks only.
Did you know? Hover the info icon next to the entity name to see which date the reminder is based on. E.g. call reminders are based on the call start date.
Which Entities Support Reminders?
Reminders are available for the following 11 entities:
Appointment
Task
Call
Event
Project
Sales opportunity
Work order
Quotation
Invoice
Sales order
Subscription
Who Receives Reminders?
Reminders are sent only for records where you are the owner, the assignee or the account manager. You also need to have set up a reminder for that entity in your notification settings.
Troubleshooting
Why can I not see an Action required notification in my Feed?
Action required notifications appear in the Action required tab only.
Why am I not receiving a reminder for a record?
Check that you are the owner, assignee or account manager of the record, and that you have set up a reminder for that entity in your notification settings.
Do my settings apply to all my environments?
No. Settings are saved per environment, so set them up in each environment you use.
Can I be reminded about several things at different times?
Yes. Add several lead times for the same entity by selecting + Add reminder, for example one week and one day before.
Quick Summary
Notifications in Tribe are organised into Feed, Unread and Action required tabs, and the navigation bar counter shows everything that needs your attention. The Settings icon in the notification list lets you switch notification types on or off and set reminders. Your settings are saved per environment. Reminders are available for 11 entities and alert you before key dates. You set them up yourself because none are active by default.
