To use the Power BI connection, you need basic API knowledge. You also need access to Tribe CRM, Microsoft Power BI Desktop, and permission to install custom connectors on your device.
How Do I Set Up The Power BI Connection?
Follow these steps to prepare Power BI Desktop for use with Tribe CRM.
Open the Marketplace in Tribe CRM.
Select the External Data tab.
Open the Power BI link and download the .mez file.
Install Microsoft Power BI Desktop if it is not already installed.
Create the following folder path in your OneDrive Documents folder:
Power BI Desktop\Custom ConnectorsCopy the downloaded .mez file into the Custom Connectors folder.
Close Power BI Desktop if it is open, then restart the application.
Go to File > Options And Settings > Options.
Open Security.
Under Data Extensions, enable Allow Any Extension To Be Loaded Without Validation Or Warning.
Select OK to save the setting.
Note: The folder path and setting names must be entered exactly as described for the connector to work correctly.
How Do I Connect To Tribe Data In Power BI?
Once the connector is installed, you can connect to Tribe data.
Open Power BI Desktop.
Select Home > Get Data > More.
Navigate to Other and select Tribe CRM, or search for Tribe CRM.
Click Connect.
Enter the API Endpoint from Tribe CRM, for example:
https://api.tribecrm.nl/v1/odata/Activity_SalesOpportunityConfirm the entry.
Sign in to Tribe CRM using your login details when prompted.
After signing in, the Query Editor opens automatically, allowing you to load and transform Tribe data for use in Power BI.
