When connecting your Microsoft 365 calendar to Tribe, Microsoft may require administrator approval before the link can be activated. This approval step ensures your organisation controls which applications can access calendar data. You may encounter this when setting up the calendar link for the first time or after permission changes. By following this guide, you will understand how to request approval and how an administrator can approve the Microsoft 365 calendar link so synchronisation can continue.

Why Is Approval Required?

Microsoft 365 can be configured to require administrator consent for applications that access organisational data. When this setting is active, Tribe cannot complete the calendar connection without explicit approval. This helps organisations manage security and data access centrally.

How Do I Request Approval As A User?

If approval is required, you will see a message after logging in with your Microsoft account during the calendar link setup.

Then, you enter a clear reason for the request--such as Tribe CRM Calendar Link--and click Request Approval.

Your request is now sent to the Microsoft 365 administrator. The calendar link will remain inactive until approval is granted.

How Does An Administrator Approve The Link?

The Microsoft 365 administrator can review and approve the request in Azure.

  1. Go to the Azure Portal and open Access Requests (you may see the message below).

  2. Locate the request for Tribe CRM – Graph Connector.

  3. Click Review Permissions And Consent.

  4. Log in using a Microsoft 365 Administrator Account.

  5. Click Accept to approve the request.

Once approved, the Microsoft 365 calendar link can be re-established in Tribe and will start synchronising.

Quick Summary

Some Microsoft 365 environments require administrator approval before the calendar link can be activated. You can request approval directly during the setup process in Tribe. After the administrator approves the request in Azure, the Microsoft 365 calendar link can be completed and used as normal.
