Can I invoice a subscription in advance or afterwards?
Updated over 4 months ago

It is now possible to invoice subscriptions prior to the subscription period in Tribe CRM. It is also possible to invoice the subscription afterwards. If you are not yet familiar with how subscriptions work, first read the article ‘How do I work with subscriptions?’

Normally, when a subscription is enabled, an invoice is created and sent immediately. If you use the pre-invoicing period, Tribe will only create and send an invoice at the desired time and not immediately after enabling the subscription.

Create the subscription as you are used to. Via the details in the subscription or when enabling the subscription, enter the pre-billing period. To do this, enter a number and the desired period, e.g. 1 month or 14 days.

Pre-invoicing in Tribe CRM

If a subscription starts on 15 February, with a pre-billing period of 1 month, the invoice will be created on 15 January. If the subscription starts on 1 January and it is currently 23 December and the pre-billing period is 1 month, the invoice will be created immediately, as the pre-billing period has already started.

If you want to send the invoice afterwards, this can be done by entering a negative number. For example, if a month's subscription starts on 1 November and the invoice needs to be sent after 1 December. Then enter -1 month to the period.
