What Does The Master Account Feature Do?

The master account feature allows you to create a simple hierarchy with two levels between relations in Tribe. One relation is marked as the master account, and other related relations are linked to it as sub-accounts. This makes it easier to see which organisations belong together and how they are structured within your CRM.

Why Or When Should You Use Master Accounts?

You should use master accounts when one organisation oversees or contains several related entities. A common example is an organisation with multiple offices, branches, or schools that are each recorded as separate relations. Using master accounts keeps these relations connected while still allowing each one to be managed individually.

How Do I Activate The Master Account Module?

Follow these steps to activate the free master account module:

  1. Click your company logo in the top right of Tribe.

  2. Select Account Settings.

  3. Click Add / Remove Modules.

  4. Select the Master Account module.

  5. Click Get Started.

Note: Once activated, the master account feature becomes available for all relation types.

How Do I Use Master Account Functionality?

After activation, two new fields are added to each relation type: Is Master Account and Master Account.

  1. Open the relation that represents the head office or main organisation.

  2. Enable the Is Master Account slider.

  3. Save the relation. The Master Account field is now hidden for this record.

  4. Open a related sub-office or subsidiary relation.

  5. Open the Master Account drop-down list.

  6. Select the relevant master account from the list.

  7. Save the relation. The Is Master Account field is now hidden.

Did you know?
Only relations marked as a master account appear in the Master Account drop-down list, keeping selection clear and consistent.

Where Are Master And Sub-Accounts Displayed?

When you open a master account, the linked sub-accounts are shown in the Subsidiary Accounts or Child Accounts panel on the left side of the screen. This gives you a clear overview of all related relations within the hierarchy.

Quick Summary

Master accounts in Tribe let you create clear, two-level hierarchies between related organisations. You can activate the feature from account settings and assign relations as master or sub-accounts using dedicated fields. This makes it easier to understand organisational structures and manage related relations within your CRM.
