What Does This Feature Do?
The multi-currency feature allows you to use more than one currency in Tribe. You can activate additional currencies, set exchange rates, and apply them to products, quotations, and invoices. Tribe automatically calculates prices using the correct exchange rate while keeping reporting and widgets consistent by using a base currency. This ensures accuracy without manual calculations.
Why Or When Should You Use It?
You should use multiple currencies if you work with customers in different countries or regions. It allows you to present quotations and invoices in a familiar currency for your customers. At the same time, Tribe keeps internal reporting aligned through the base currency. This supports clear communication and reliable financial insight.
Step By Step Instructions
How To Activate Multiple Currencies And Set Exchange Rates
Navigate to Configuration.
Select Settings.
Activate the Use multiple currencies slider.
Select the Base currency. Widgets and reports are calculated using this currency.
Click Add and select the desired currency.
Enter the Exchange rate from the base currency to the selected currency.
Activate the currency using the Slider.
Click Save.
Note: Activating multiple currencies is not always possible when financial links are active. In the section “Which Processes Support Multiple Currencies?”, you can find the list of connectors that support multiple currencies.
For other Financial Integrations, multiple currencies cannot be used. When such a financial link is enabled, currency settings are unavailable. When currencies are active, financial links are hidden.
The system refreshes automatically and the changes apply immediately. Repeat these steps for each currency you want to use. Exchange rates can be updated at any time by editing the currency and saving the changes.
How To Enter Currency Prices For Products
Products use the base currency by default. You can add additional selling prices per currency when needed.
Navigate to Configuration.
Select Products.
Open an existing product or create a new one.
Enter the Purchase price and Sales price in the base currency.
Click the + button in the price section.
Select the currency you want to add.
Review the automatically calculated price based on the exchange rate.
Adjust the price if needed.
Changes are saved automatically. Repeat these steps for other products as required.
Note: Importing currency prices is not currently supported.
To keep an overview of pricing, use the Product prices view in the configuration. This view shows all products with prices in both the base currency and foreign currencies.
How To Use The Correct Currency In An Activity
Activities that use product management include a currency setting on the Products tab.
Open an activity with product management enabled.
Select the desired Currency before adding product rules.
Once product rules are added, the currency cannot be changed. This prevents multiple currencies being used in a single quotation or invoice. If a mistake is made, remove the product rules to unlock the currency setting again.
Product prices are shown in the selected currency. Purchase prices are always displayed in the base currency. When creating a quotation from a sales opportunity, the currency and symbol are carried over automatically.
What Happens If A Product Has No Price In The Selected Currency?
If a product does not have a price configured in the selected currency, Tribe automatically converts the default price using the exchange rate.
Before the product is added, you can see the original price, the exchange rate, and the converted price, so there are no surprises. Converted prices are displayed with a tinted price field and a conversion icon with a tooltip, making it clear that the price has been calculated from the exchange rate rather than entered manually.
Note: Converted prices are based on the exchange rate set at the time of entry. If the exchange rate is updated later, prices already added to an activity are not recalculated automatically.
Widgets and views use the base currency by default. When another currency is used in a record, that currency is also displayed. Additional currency-related fields become available for use in views and widgets.
How To Use Currencies With Price Lists
If you use price lists across different countries, create a separate price list for each currency.
Create a new Price list.
Select the correct Currency for the price list.
The currency can be changed after saving, as long as no products have been added. Once products are linked, the currency is fixed.
Did you know? Price lists must match the currency of the activity to apply correctly.

The currency settings are greyed out or unavailable.
The currency settings are greyed out or unavailable.
This happens when a financial link is active. Currency settings and financial links cannot be used at the same time. If you need to use multiple currencies, deactivate the financial link first. If you need the financial link, refer to the "Which Processes Support Multiple Currencies?" section to check whether your connector supports multi-currency. If it does, the currency settings will remain accessible.
